Perkins number one in Puerto Rico BSN for week 21- June 15, 2022
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, five rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Ponce (#2, 16-11) 88-84. Guayama maintains the 6th position in their group in Puerto Rican BSN. Guayama is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-17 record. In the team's last game Perkins had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Guayama, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Gonzaga University star has very solid stats this year. Perkins is in league's top in assists (7th best: 5.7apg) and averages impressive 52.6% FGP and 41.0% from behind 3-point line. The second best player in last week's games was young American Ben Moore (203-F-1995) of Guaynabo. Moore had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Guaynabo lost that game 95-101 to slightly higher-ranked San German (#4, 13-13). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group B. Guaynabo still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-15 record. Moore is one of the most experienced players at Guaynabo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.8ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 8.7rpg and 3.1apg. Third on the list of top players last week was Mali Cheick Diallo (206-C/F-1996) of league's second-best Santurce. Diallo scored 15 points and grabbed nineteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Diallo's great performance Santurce lost 82-84 to #1 ranked Arecibo. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Santurce needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Group B. Their record is 14 victories and 12 lost games. Diallo has a great season in Puerto Rico. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.8ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 13.4rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.1bpg and FGP: 68.8%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Jezreel De Jesus (185-G-1991) of Ponce - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists 5. Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-C-1994) of Humacao - 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists 6. Ben McCauley (206-F/C-1986) of Guayama - 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists 7. Angel Rodriguez (180-PG-1992) of Bayamon - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists 8. Terrence Jones (206-F/C-1992) of Fajardo - 25 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Kristian Doolittle (201-F-1997) of Bayamon - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists 10. Emmanuel Andujar (197-F-1993) of Fajardo - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
